Some people seem to be drawn to pharmaceuticals to help them lose weight. Two relatively new anti-obesity drugs, orlistat and sibrutramine were found to be effective, but for a limited time only, and when accompanied by a diet lower in calories than the one that contributed to obesity in the first place.

Orlistat, which works for about two years, blocks fat absorption (including fat-soluble vitamins). Sibrutramine has a one-year effectiveness track record and helps you feel satisfied by providing a bulking agent.
