If you're worried about osteoporosis and keep popping calcium pills, you may be fooling yourself. We've said this before and we'll keep saying it until women realize that calcium is not the answer to brittle bones. In fact, calcium makes bones brittle, while magnesium makes them more flexible.
Now another study, this one published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition (January 2000), points out that a magnesium deficiency may contribute to osteoporosis.
