An analysis of 15 randomised trials of glucosamine sulfate and chondroitin sulfate used as anti-inflammatory agents for arthritis was published recently in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA). Almost all of these studies were paid for by manufacturers of the supplements tested. Those studies that were well conducted showed only a slight improvement in arthritis pain, while lower-quality studies showed better results. So we really don't know how beneficial these supplements can be. We need more good results from well-designed studies.
Perhaps the people who examined these 15 studies didn't consider that while glucosamine ...
