Figures showing 17,700 people applying for postgraduate teacher training, a 10 per cent rise, were today welcomed by School Standards Minister Estelle Morris.
The new statistics from the Graduate Teacher Training Registry (GTTR) show the number of people applying to train to be teachers compared to last year.
