Jan. 17--ConAgra Beef is "pursuing a rebuilding strategy" for the fire-damaged Garden City plant that employed 2,300 people, spokesman Bret Fox said Tuesday.
"Right now, our intent is to rebuild the plant at Garden City," Fox said. "That is not a guarantee. No options are off the table. But it is the direction we're headed."
The company says it wants to reveal details by April 1 of what kind of plant would be built and when construction might begin. It is still assessing damage to the meat processing plant in the wake of the Christmas night fire.
