The chairman of Australian regional carrier Hazelton Airlines has expressed concern that Impulse Airlines' recent offer to merge the two carriers' regional fleets could be a ploy to delay a decision being made on merger proposals from Ansett and Qantas.
Stan Quinlivan has acknowledged that Impulse Airlines and Hazelton Airlines were in talks over a period of about 12 months, but stated that the results were 'inconclusive' and that Impulse Airlines had had 'ample time' to put forward a proposal if the carrier 'had a genuine desire for a merger.'
