AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2001 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD

Skynet Asia Airways, a small Japanese carrier based in Miyazaki, has indicated that it will apply to the government by September for approval to fly between Tokyo and Miyazaki. The carrier is hoping to begin the proposed thrice-daily service in April as a low-cost service under a tie-up with Skymark Airlines, according to Kyodo News. Skynet is also planning to start services between Fukuoka and Miyazaki during fiscal year 2002 and between Fukuoka and Seoul, South Korea during fiscal 2003.
