Outside, the two bowls are sewn of the finest gold tea chest paper. Inside, the bowls are lined with the black-and-white newsprint of hundreds of obituaries, sliced and stitched together with metallic threads of silver and gold. Built upon memories of lives lost, Donna Rhae Marder's radiant vessels are so light as to be almost insubstantial, but so exquisitely crafted, they beg to be examined.
