Article: Kentucky Lieutenant Governor Gains Emergency Funding for Ambulance Services.(Knight Ridder/Tribune Business News)

Jan. 20--The Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA) is sending emergency payments to two Kentucky ambulance services to help the services continue operating after many of their requests for payment through Medicare were rejected.

Meanwhile, other ambulance services throughout Kentucky are also on a "priority list" to receive advance payments for Medicare claims that were also rejected.

On Friday, Lt. Gov. Steve Henry came to Owensboro to meet with regional ambulance service officials and discuss recent problems ambulance service providers have experienced when trying to collect Medicare payments for ambulance runs.
