Mine Radio Systems and Nortel Networks have launched a new network system that will provide internet access underground. FLEXCOM CMTS is a high-speed data radio frequency communication system that provides users with the same two-way instant voice, data and video communication as MRS's FLEXCOM system but a data transfer speed of 30 Mbps enables internet access.
MRS in conjunction with Nortel installed the first system at a platinum mine in South Africa.
