SAN DIEGO -- Bilateral oophorectomy is associated with earlier onset of subclinical atherosclerosis, compared with natural menopause, according to results of a vascular-imaging study conducted on 216 postmenopausal women.
This is the first such imaging study to confirm what many epidemiologic studies have long suggested, Dr. Cristin Slater reported during the annual meeting of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine.
