Reno is known as the "Biggest Little City in the World." Visitors play an important role in the Reno economy, and over the years a long series of events has been established to attract people of diverse interests to Reno.
Reno celebrates ARTown, its month-long arts festival, through July each year with dance, poetry, music, and more, at events held throughout the community. This festival has grown exponentially over the last four years, and today it attracts 200,000 people. This year, the Reno Redevelopment Agency won the prestigious Downtown Achievement Award in Festivals and Special Events from the International Downtown Association for sponsoring ARTown.
