Three percent of all semiconductors purchased in Mexico two years ago, when local demand for the components exceeded supply, were acquired on the black market, according to Intel Mexico former senior executive Eduardo Valtierra. Valtierra said that as supply and demand for semiconductors in Mexico since has moved into equilibrium, less than 1 percent of all semiconductors now are purchased on the black market. ...
