$2.5 million expansion on way for St. Edna's
Leaders of St. Edna parish announced plans to augment the Catholic church's worship space, upgrade the parking lot and add a new gathering space with a shrine to the Holy Family. Construction on the $2.5 million project will hopefully begin Sept. 1 and finish in the summer of 2002, said Fred Broviak, a parishioner who is a member of the church's building committee. The church at 2525 N. Arlington Heights Road has not undergone any kind of facelift since it opened in 1968.
