CAMPAIGN TO PREVENT ACCUTANE USE AMONG PREGNANT WOMEN

NEW YORK, Sept. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Hoffmann-La Roche announced today that it will pay for contraception counseling and the initial pregnancy test performed by a consulting physician for any woman using Accutane(R) (isotretinoin/Roche), a drug used to treat the most severe form of cystic acne, severe recalcitrant cystic acne. In addition, Roche will provide physicians with a consent form for patients to sign before Accutane is prescribed, and will set forth strict criteria for prescribing Accutane.
