Krispy Kreme development moves forward after final OK
A Krispy Kreme production facility and retail store planned in Elk Grove Village on Devon Avenue received the village board's final approval this week. The village approved the project only after the doughnut chain agreed to lower its sign to 22 feet and cover its neon "Hot Doughnuts Now" sign.
Sweet Traditions LLC, the Midwest developer of Krispy Kreme stores, plans to finish work to transform the fairly new building - originally intended as a tuxedo cleaning business - into a doughnut shop by December.
