Family heritage is precious to Cindi Rogers. Her Littleton home is cozy with cherished antiques and portraits of previous generations.
This spring afternoon she watches the school bus drop off the next generation. Her sons, Jake, 9, and Joey, 6, head down the steps and traipse into the house.
Rogers, 33, welcomes them with hugs. When she surveys their homework, it's with expectations different from those of other moms.
Rogers' boys have Fragile X syndrome, the most common cause of inherited mental retardation.
