Could the 2000 scenario play out again?
Election day in November 2008 may not see Florida play the pivotal role it did nationally in 2000, but population dynamics in the three south Florida counties of Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach mean that the potential for a cliffhanger scenario in statewide elections will continue to exist, with south Florida continuing to provide the primary base of support for Democrats running statewide.
