TAMPA, Fla. - Jack Del Rio is on a meteoric rise through NFL coaching ranks. After tonight's Super Bowl, he could be named the second defensive coordinator in Baltimore Ravens history before the week is over.
Del Rio's status depends on whether current coordinator Marvin Lewis becomes head coach of the Cleveland Browns or Buffalo Bills. Under NFL guidelines, the Browns and Bills will be allowed to speak to Lewis once the Super Bowl is completed. Both have been given permission by Ravens owner Art Modell to do so.
