Scientists say the majority of matter in the universe, including the sun, exists in the plasma state. So it's fitting that the majority of manufacturers introducing new DTVs at CES 2001 should be so keen on plasma television. Direct-view DTV sets are also an expanding market, fit to bring high-definition to a wider range of consumers. CRT projection sets may not yet be on the decline, but breakthroughs in DLP and LCD technology, as well as plasma, are definitely stealing CRT's thunder. Several names known for digital television, such as Pioneer and Fujitsu, will be at CES but did not announce any new DTV ...
