NEW YORK - BMW of North America Inc. named Edward Robinson to the newly created job of vice president of operations, in charge of running the BMW brand day-to-day.
Tom Purves, CEO of BMW (U.S.) Holding Corp. and president of BMW of North America, said the appointment reflects the fact that his own responsibilities have grown to include the Mini and Rolls-Royce brands, and a much bigger sales volume overall.
``With the new operations we've got coming, we need a guy to run BMW of North America,'' Purves said.
