KIDS "R" US From outsider to leader of the pack
Someday, Mike Searle, president of Kids `R' Us, hopes his stores will live up to the expectations of his boss, Charles Lazarus -- to beat Kids' profitable parent, Toys `R' Us, at the cash register.
Lazarus will receive the Green Thumb award from the Boys' and Young Men's Apparel Manufacturers Association for his leadership of Kids `R' on Tuesday, Jan. 17. The chairman and chief executive officer of Toys `R' Us surely feels indebted to Searle for helping make the apparel chain as successful as it is to date.
