Jan. 27--The city of Colorado Springs has joined the Chamber of Commerce to fund an Office of International Affairs to promote global trade and relations locally.
The office will be housed at the chamber and operate this year on $50,000 from the City Council. The Colorado Springs Global Advisory Council established the office in February as the first contact for international queries.
Carmon Stiles, who spent 18 years with Southwestern Petroleum Corp. in Fort Worth, Texas, and retired from the U.S. Department of Commercial Services, was named interim director of the OIA last year.
