A RECENT ARKANSAS Supreme Court decision denying workers' compensation carriers automatic liens on settlements injured workers receive from third parties sent shock waves through the industry.
While those on the side of the injured workers hail the decision, some within the insurance industry expect workers' comp insurance carriers to lobby the state Legislature for relief.
How much the court's ruling will cost workers' compensation carriers is unknown at this time.
