Jan. 31--A Nebraska Furniture Mart executive declined Wednesday to comment on a news report that Omaha's largest retailer is considering a store near a new auto racing track being built in Kansas City, Kan.
Television station WDAF in Kansas City, Mo., reported that the Furniture Mart may be part of a 400-acre "destination retailer" development near the Kansas Speedway, which is to open this summer and host Nascar racing events.
The development is intended to hold retailers that would attract customers from hundreds of miles around, the report said, and the Furniture Mart is one of the retailers being courted for the project.
