Celia Imrie has tackled everything from Hollywood blockbusters to British sitcoms. Yet for all her versatility as an actress, one prop has dogged her career - a tatty grey cardie.

As she prepares to wear this unflattering garment once again, playing dowdy Aunt Sadie in BBC1's Love In A Cold Climate, she reveals that it has been a standing joke between her and her friend Dame Judi Dench, since they first worked together at the National Theatre.
