SCOTLAND is set for its biggest flea epidemic in history, scientists warned yesterday.
Thanks to global warming causing wetter winters and warmer summers, the tiny blood-sucking pests are breeding by the billions and are ready to pounce on humans and animals.
Yesterday, Dr John Maunder, of the Cambridge Medical Entomology Centre, confirmed an epidemic of fleas would invade Scotland later this year.
