Carlsbad company unveils its line of scary skatewear

A Carlsbad-based marketing company hopes to scare up customers around the country with a new line of sportswear designed for skateboard enthusiasts: Voodoo Street Wear.

STE Marketing and its joint-venture partner, Design Asylum of San Diego, are betting on the morbid designs that seem to appeal to kids when they buy T-shirts, tank tops, hats and walking shorts, said STE President Tom Martinez.

"Scary graphics happen to be hitting the young adult and youth market very strongly," he said.
