NEW BAYONNE COGENERATION PLANT ADDS ONE BILLION
KILOWATT HOURS TO NEW JERSEY'S ELECTRIC SYSTEM
BAYONNE, N.J., Sept. 22 /PRNewswire/ --What officials believe to be the largest combined electric and steam cogeneration plant east of the Mississippi River officially went on stream Sept. 22 at a special dedication ceremony at the Bayonne plant site. The new $120 million plant, built by Cogen Technologies NJ Venture, will produce 1.1 billion kilowatt hours of electricity annually, adequate for more than 260,000 homes, according to Cogen president, Robert C. McNair of Houston, Texas.
