NORFOLK -- The Norfolk-based sailor presumed lost at sea off the Virginia coast a week ago and found alive aboard his ship Tuesday night is being transferred to the Navy Medical Center in Portsmouth.
Perry Officer 2nd class Kevin M. Corr, 27, of Troy, Mich., will be flown by helicopter today from the guided-missile cruiser Cape St. George to the aircraft carrier John F. Kennedy and from there ashore and then to Portsmouth, the Navy said.
The ships are operating in the Atlantic between Florida and the Bahamas.
Corr emerged about 7:45 p.m. Tuesday from a storeroom.
