Builders and demolition crews have launched the $16 million project at Midvale Boulevard and University Avenue that, by fall 2002, will result in a new Kohl's Food Emporium, Borders Book Shop & Cafe, Walgreen Drug Store and Janet's Antiques.
The Shorewood Hills project will also include an addition to Steve's Wine Market, said John Flad of Flad Development and Investment Corp., project developer.
Work started late last month on the first new structure, a 6,000-square-foot Janet's Antiques building on the northwest corner of Midvale Boulevard and University Avenue.
