"Manifesta: Young Women, Feminism and the Future" is not the book that the title suggests.
No brash polemic on the outdated feminism of the Second Wave of the 1960s and 1970s, this book is a plea to be listened to from its Third Wave co-authors to their formidable convention-busting mothers.
And that important function makes it essential reading for anyone who values the cause of equal rights and the women who work for it.
Authors Jennifer Baumgardner and Amy Richards have given much-needed voice -- in a tone measured enough to be heard -- to the depth of hurt young feminists feel over being slighted in the movement.
It's no pity party ...
