US demand for printing inks is expected to expand nearly 5 percent per annum to $5.6 billion in 2004. Growth will be driven by a shift in the product mix toward more expensive digital and energy-cured inks. Gains will also be supported by demand for inks providing higher quality color printing, particularly for advertising and packaging applications. The market for printing ink raw materials is forecast to reach $1.9 billion in 2004, with the best growth anticipated for additives and colorants.
