'ROOT CANAL' TREATMENT SAVING MILLIONS OF TEETH LOST IN THE PAST

WASHINGTON, Oct. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Dentists can treat and save teeth today that were considered "hopeless" less than a generation ago, Joe H. Camp, D.D.S., an endodontist from Charlotte, N.C., said today at the 129th annual session of the American Dental Association.

"The number of people with dentures in this country has decreased dramatically because of root canal treatment (endodontics) and preventive dentistry," Camp said. "Teeth can be saved with root canal treatment. The old concept that everyone is going to end up with dentures is absolutely false."
