A frontage road's fate still hangs in the balance and Arlington Heights village trustees find the decision once more in their collective lap.
The Illinois Department of Transportation wants to eliminate the frontage road on the north side of Palatine Road between Arlington Heights Road and Kennicott Drive as part of its plans to renovate the roadway from Route 53 to the Edens Expressway.
Area residents and officials don't want that to happen, but an ad hoc committee of residents, officials and trustees was unable to recommend any alternatives Wednesday night.
