Trevor Stewart saw the question coming like a pass from Joel Hanson, who saw it coming like a pass from Kelly Plude.
Or maybe it just seemed that way when the three senior forwards - who comprise the top line for Elk River, the No. 1-ranked Class AA boys' hockey team in the state - had almost the exact same explanation for why they work so well together.
"We've been playing together for so long," said Plude, who answered first.
"We've played together since youth hockey," said Stewart, who answered last. "We know where we're going to be on the ice."
