According to China Daily (February 12, 2001), the China Securities Regulatory Commission issued approval to 23 securities firms to conduct online share trading. Guotai Junan Securities, Shenyin Wanguo Securities and Haitong Securities will be among the companies allowed to take orders from clients to buy or sell shares via the Internet.
