ATLANTA, Ga. - Assume nothing.
Specify everything. Write it out. Draw it out. Know what you want to happen, and be able to explain it in writing, unmistakably, to others.
That's the secret of success in documenting direct digital controls (DDC's) for large commercial hvac systems, according to two veteran designers of such systems. They spoke at a technical forum sponsored by the Atlanta chapter of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE).
