PDV Embraces E-Commerce With First Online Sale of Bunker Fuel
State giant Petroleos de Venezuela (PDV) is making its first, timid incursion into the fast-paced world of e- commerce by venturing to conduct an online trial auction of bunker fuel, possibly as early as next week, according to company sources.
The location chosen for the experimental transaction is PDV's Borco terminal in Freeport, Bahamas.
The underutilized facility - which has a total storage capacity of 20 million barrels of crude and products combined, with actual usage standing at roughly 50% - is touted by PDV as "the ideal environment for a competitive bidding, given ...
