More than nine in every 10 back-to-school consumers rated quality and value as most important when shopping for b-t-s apparel, reports leading market information provider The NPD Group Inc.
Among these consumers, national chains, discount stores and specialty stores scored an "A" in customer attitude, confirms the NPD Back-to-School 2000 Report, a survey of more than 400 representative households nationwide.
The NPD Back-to-School Report is based on information collected in an online survey conducted in November 2000 among a representative sample of women with children ages five to 12, and teenagers from 13 to 18.
