SOUTH KOREAN PRESIDENT ADDRESSES UNITED NATIONS

NEW YORK, Oct. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Republic of Korea President Roh Tae Woo today addressed the 43rd session of the United Nations General Assembly.

It marked the first time that a Korean head of state has spoken before the body.

In his first overseas trip as president, Roh is seeking to build international support for his eforts to ease tensions with neighboring North Korea and highlight his commitment to reunification. The Korean peninsula has been divided since the end of World War II.
