Industry's Apparel Fabrics Down, but Bibb's Keeping Up
While the focus on Bibb Co. for the last year has been on home furnishings, spurred by the acquisition of 12 J.P. Stevens plants in 1988, the company is still a solid factor and growing in the men's shirtings and other apparel fabrics business.
The Apparel Fabrics division is a profit-maker and growing at 5 percent a year, the same rate as the home furnishings divisions, according to Alan Davis, Bibb president.
