Hillcrest restaurateur buys franchise rights for La Salsa
Luis Moreno, owner of the Crest Cafe in Hillcrest, plans to open as many as five La Salsa franchises in San Diego, spending about $1 million over a three-year period.
The existing La Salsas in Horton Plaza and North County Fair shopping center, as well as one scheduled to open in April next to the Hard Rock Cafe in La Jolla, all are owned by La Salsa Co. owner Howdy Kabrins.
Another under construction in the Costa Verde shopping center is a franchise purchased by R&R Enterprises in San Diego, said La Salsa franchise President Chapman Baehler.
