The lobby of the new Hilton Madison is not a grand space with a vaulted ceiling or gilded molding, and that's just fine with John Archibald, hotel general manager.
"We are a convention hotel, but because of our size we can operate as a boutique hotel with a very personalized feel," Archibald said.
With 240 rooms, the hotel at 9 E. Wilson St. is on the small side for a convention-center hotel, Archibald said.
