When Merwin Grayson Jr. retires June 30, it will be the first time in 55 years a Grayson won't be doing business at the corner of Sixth and Main streets in Covington.

Grayson oversees Huntington Banks' regional operations from his office there.

A bank president since he was 35, he was head of Covington Trust in 1982 when it was bought by Huntington. Before that, he worked at People's Liberty Bank across the street - bought in 1988 by what is now Firstar - where his father was president.
