New research on products with hemp seed oil suggests there is little evidence to support use of such products as an excuse for a positive drug test.
Kenneth Cole, a toxicologist with the Division of Forensic Toxicology of the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology, noted that literature several years ago was suggesting that use of hemp seed oil products could cause a drug test to be positive for the marijuana metabolite THC. And, consequently, individuals who tested positive were attempting to use ingestion of hemp seed oil products as an excuse for positive drug tests.
