Funds appropriate for investment to be found within most healthcare organizations include monies allocated for funded depreciation; capitation reserves; unexpended bond funds and/or bond reserves; excess operating cash; funded self-insurance programs; foundation or endowment funds; securities from investment pools used as collateral for various state or Federal programs; and pension/retirement funds from a defined benefit program.
