ARKANSAS BUSINESS' ANnual list of the state's largest computer-oriented technology companies is dominated by six publicly traded companies, three of which fill the top spots.
The list ranks tech companies by number of employees. For companies based outside Arkansas, only the Arkansas-based employees are counted toward the ranking. Companies that are mainly retailers of computer equipment or software manufactured by other companies are not included in the ranking.
Alltel Information Services Corp. of Little Rock, a division of Alltel Corp., tops the list with 8,20.4, followed by Acxiom Corp. of Little Rock, with 5,800, and Southwestern Bell Telephone Co., ...
