The pressure to keep up with change, basic fears about selling and poor sales training have left the average salesperson with a lot of misconceptions and a tendency to make mistakes, says Jim Schneider, president of Schneider Sales Management Inc., and author of the "The Feel of Success in Selling."
Few salespeople today really feel effective in their selling, says Schneider. Just keeping pace with changes in their customers, products and management's priorities has many sellers more interested in selling with less stress than in selling more.
