Holy Cross didn't perform like a team with 20 wins and perched on the doorstep of an NCAA tournament bid last night at Case Gym.
The Patriot League regular-season champions were outhustled in the offensive end by an inspired, undersized Boston University crew before 935 fans under The Roof. Jason Grochowalski paced the Terriers with a game-high 19 points and seven rebounds en route to a 60-51 upset win over the Crusaders.
The victory prevented an America East sweep by the Crusaders (20-6), who had already beaten Northeastern, Vermont and New Hampshire. Holy Cross was 9-4 on the road coming in.
